Liddie Christening Gown
A truly wonderful example of fine Victorian craftsmanship in really good condition. This gown is sumptuous but has a little twist to it. You see it is a marriage gown. The bodice dates from around 1850 and is constructed in the most beautiful hand made lace. The robings along the side, over the shoulder and at the back are distinctly pretty, they are all hand worked to a high standard. The skirt is later in period, dating around 1880. The lace is lovely and as a result tthe skirt and bodice compliment each other and work as one gown.
This gown is stunning, unfortunately there is a small tear at the back which has been expertly darned by Linda Patrick, and a small tear in the lace on the bodice again has been expertly darned, A very pretty Victorian gown, perfect for any christening occasion.
