Delightful cotton and lace Christening gown dating from 1890. The yoke is beautifully decorated, both front and back, with cutwork lace and braid bands. A high, round neck has a delicate lace trim. Slightly puffed sleeves are gathered into a double layer of the same lace. Wide, flared skirt incorporates three bands of pin tucked cotton alternating with braid and cutwork lace with a wide flounce of two layers of broderie anglais lace round the bottom. A few tiny pinholes and an expert darn do not detract from the gown as they are easily lost in the folds. Back fastening comprises two cotton buttons.

A wonderful, elegant and soft white cotton gown dating from 1910. The detail on the front yoke is a stunning example of extremely fine English cotton lacework, which falls to a gentle point to join the full skirt. Long sleeves are softly gathered and edged with thin cotton lace trim and fine eyelet bands. The sumptuously wide skirt gently falls to a wonderfully decorated hemline comprising rows and rows of pintucks and three types of cotton and muslin lace. This gown is beautiful. It is understated and yet beautifully decorated... just right for any baby's christening day.

Simple white Christening gown dating from 1890 and made from a lovely cotton material with delicate vertical stripes running throughout. The deep bodice is decorated with bands of embroiderie anglais. Lace cotton trim adorns the high neckline and edges of the small, slightly puffed sleeves. The full skirt is plain to highlight the stripe effect and the hem has cotton lace trim. The skirt has been beautifully gathered and hand-stitched (gauged) to the bodice, demonstrating the excellent craftsmanship of the Victorian era.

Long cotton Victorian christening gown made from the most delicate lace I have ever seen. This is a marriage gown, the bodice and skirt originally belonged to separate gowns, but have been expertly joined together to make this beautiful garment. I must point out that there is some very minor damage on the lace due to ageing, intricate darning covers a few barely visible holes. Please note that this does not detract from the gown, the skirt is so full that the small darns are hidden in the folds. The price of this gown is reduced however to reflect the damage.

It is very rare to find a lace gown of such fine quality. The three layers of cotton lace and the wonderful cotton lace hem are perfect.
The long, long skirt softly gathers into a pretty little yoke that is decorated in a smaller version of the cotton lace that decorates the hemline. It is made up of verttical strips of lace and tiny, tiny pintucks. The most beautiful thin eyelet lace join yoke to skirt. Cotton lace edging trims the high neck as well as the sleeves which are gathered into the same pretty decoratedeyelet lace trim. -
This gown has a lovely feel of elegance and quality about it, from the full sleeves that gather into deep cuffs to the full skirt with its layers and layers of gathered frills.
Dating from the turn of the 19th century, this gown is in excellent condition. The yoke and shoulders are made from bands of eyelet lace and finished with a delicate lace neck trim. Narrow pintucking detail decorates the back of the yoke.
