As with all Little Doves’s merchandise, all the embroidery on these items has been lovingly hand sewn in a variety of stitches.

Coming soon is the beautiful "Holy Spirit" collection, delicately embroidered with the passage from St Luke’s Gospel which describes the baptism of Christ:

"the holy spirit descended on him like a dove" - Luke 3 v.22

The Petticoat

A lovely cotton lawn petticoat based on a traditional Victorian pattern. Trimmed with authentic vintage Swiss lace. The petticoat fastens with drawstrings at the neck and ties at the waist. Christening Bonnet

Victorian style bonnet with gathered frill. Bonnets make the perfect finishing touch to the Christening gown. If you are ordering a bonnet to compliment a gown it will be made in the same fabrics.
Classic Christening Shawl

Little Doves is proud to annouce that we are now able to offer hand knitted shawls courtesy of Millstone Crafts. This beautiful square lacy shawl is extremely classic in design and the perfect accompaniment for any of Little Doves' antique christening gowns.

This christening shawl is available in white only and in acrylic, cashmere or a lovely cashmere/linen blend. Subject to availability.
Christening Shawl

Little Doves is proud to annouce that we are now able to offer hand knitted shawls courtesy of Millstone Crafts. This beautiful round lacy shawl is the perfect accompaniment for any of Little Doves' christening gowns and rompers. The shawl featured is made from 4ply baby acrylic wool and therefore is machine washable and able to be tumble dried.

This christening shawl is available in white or ivory yarn and in either acrylic or cashmere yarn.
Christening Booties

Delightful silk booties edged with lace to match yoru chosen gown. These hand stitched booties fasten with pretty satin ribbons that are attached to the side with a delicate bow.

A lovely item to finish off every style of christening gown or romper.
Baby Baptism Towel

A beautiful 100% pure cotton towel with silk bands and sumptuous lace trimming. This towel is wonderfully soft and warm and perfect to wrap your baby in after any baptism where full immersion takes place.

The baby's initials are embroidered in a beautiful silk heart which is placed at one corner. Satin ribbon bows finish the decoration.
Christening Cape

In Victorian times a baby would not be fully dressed if it did not wear a cape for its baptism day. Every baby had to wear a white gown, bonnet and cape.

This Christening Cape is styled off a Victorian Original and is truly wonderful. It consists of two layers of fabric, the lower cape and the upper cape, bother gathered into the neckband and both decorated with sumptuous frilled lace. Large ties that fasten with a bow under the baby's chin gives this cape a stylish finishing touch.

Pretty little ankle socks made from 100% cotton and edged in cotton lace to match your chosen outfit. These socks look lovely when teemed up with the dainty christening booties.

Godmother Baptism Towel

A beautiful 100% pure cotton towel edged with silk and cotton lace. This towel is a lovely gift for any godmother and ideal for use during the baptism service for the Godmother to dry her hands.

The towel can also be embroidered with the baby's initials and date of baptism if required.

This pretty little christening bonnet has been styled from an original 19th century Victorian bonnet. Made from a lovely soft cotton lawn with cotton lace trim, this is the perfect bonnet to compliment any Victorian or Edwardian reproduction christening gown.

When chosing a bonnet with gown, please note that the trim will be used to match the gown.
